Well... I don't kill them. If it's a spider (which I'm not deathly afraid of) I'll cup it in my hands and take it outside.

If it's a centipede or something... well... I don't kill those, because I'm usually reduced to a shivering ball on the floor whenever I see one, but I do stand by and watch as my mom kills them for me. Same with flies, because there's no way you can let them back outside.

Again, you are grossly generalizing as if all vegans are the same. Just as there are meat-eaters who do/don't kill bugs, there are vegans who do/don't kill bugs. I never purposely kill bugs. I go on the theory that if the bug is attacking me, I do have a right to defend myself, but there just is no need to randomly eradicate bugs (an impossible feat anyways since bugs overwhelmingly outnumber us & they'll survive WW3). They serve their purpose (food for birds, eat other bugs, etc.), leave them alone. The point of being an animal-rights vegan is to stop UNNECESSARY suffering & death of sentient beings.

Sorry to say that I do. In fact, sometimes there are bugs on our vegetables and we do wash them off or kill them when we cook them. I kill fleas for my dog. Before I don't kill spider when I saw them in my house. After a while, there are webs everywhere, and I can see little baby spiders, too. So I did the room spray.

I only kill a bug if it presents a danger to me, such as a mosquito (around here, you never know about west nile!), or if a bee/wasp type creature won't leave me alone. I am sooo grossed out by spiders but I have learned to leave them alone, or have my boyfriend shoo them out of the house.

Personally, I am extremely proud of the fact that I ran into an earwig in a hotel bathroom last week down in Tennessee on vacation and I didn't kill it. I HATE EARWIGS. But I let it go on it's merry way. GO ME!

XD

Usually if there's a bug in my house my cat kills it before I even see it. x_X

But if/when I do kill bugs I take a paper towel and smash them instantly and flush them. I don't use poison or drown them down the drain or something that's going to cause unnecessary pain and slow death (if they can feel it, some scientists in Norway say no, but I'm not going to take the chance.) If it's something fairly innocent that won't bite or cause disease (like a moth) I prefer to try to shoo it out the door.

Another non-vegetarian who misses the point...

I guess you are trying to prove that we are hypocrites.

All vegetarians / vegans do not become vegetarian / vegan for the SAME reason!

Some people may eat meat because they hate cows, pigs, and chickens - it does not mean that anyone who eats meat hates animals.

This is simple logic - take a class in it.

The only bugs I still kill are mosquitos, and usually only if they are trying to land on me. And I don't feel a bit bad about that.

I am not quite vegan, but I am working on it. I don't kill bugs (roaches, centipedes, flies, ants, bees, etc), but I do kill spiders, but that is only because they scare the crap out of me and I can't make myself get close enough to them to catch them and let them outside. If there is someone home with me that is NOT afraid of spiders, then I insist that they catch them and let them out for me.

I'm a vegetarian (not a vegan)...and I am a "catch and release" type person. I'll use a tissue to capture it then I'll put it outside by the tree in my yard.

I don't kill them intentionally. But I do step on them accidently which is hard to avoid unless i can levitate (which would be so cool :)).
