You need blood work to show it. But symptoms can be: very thirsty, pee often, wounds heal slowly, feet burn at night. You need to know asap, so you can adjust your lifestyle.

Some excellent answers have been posted already. But I want to add: If you know someone who is diabetic, he will have a blood glucose meter. Ask him (or her) to test you! Eat a banana or a chocolate bar and then have him test you after one hour and you will know right away, at least whether or not you should go to the doctor for more tests.

Type 2 usually is associated with obesity.Symptoms range from, extreme thirst, tiredness, excess urination. Dizziness, and sometimes blackouts and the shakes. But if your not sure please see your doctor.

by the time you notice actual symptoms of diabetes you are in deep trouble. If you have a family history of diabetes, or you are overweight, you should be checked annually at minimum. I get my blood test every six months. Both my parents were insulin dependant diabetics from childhood.
In other words, get a blood test and soon.

weight loss and feeling hungry, poor healing of sores, frequent urination, general fatigue, blurry vision.
old time doctors and scientists tasted urine for sugar, but don't try this at home.
These symptoms are of uncontrolled diabetes and require the start of treatment right away if you have it (diabetes).

If you have an increase of drinking water, passing fluid, fatigue, and weakness, you may have diabetes. See your doctor even if you just suspect it: diabetes is a silent killer.
