Fire roasted bell pepper is awesome. Sautee the asparagus with olive oil (or butter if you like) and a seasoning you like; I prefer lemon pepper. Then chop up the fire roasted pepper and mix it up with the asparagus and oil or butter and seasoning. It's great.

If you combine them. I did this once I dated a veggie for 5 years. I used the asparagus as the meat of the meal. I steamed it at first but not done. Condensed some Veg Stock with a bit of white wine. I cooked some brown rice but you might not need it.
I missed the asparagus with the wine and veg stock. Let that cook down alot. It should look like a soup. Then I combined the brown rice. Till it was more like a stew. Salt and Pepper to taste.
I cut the top of the pepper off and gutted it so it was like a cup. Filled it up with the mixture and topped it with croutons, or just broken up bread. Baked it until the pepper was soft. The top of the croutons or bread will get crusty. Cover it while its backing until just before you are ready to order, maybe 5 minutes before.

I always steamed my asparagus until my wife started roasting it. I like it better and the peppers could be roasted at the same time. Also both are good stir fried but I would start the stems a little before the spears for the textures to be right.

The healthiest would be to steam them. You can actually cut the pepper into strips and the asparagus stems in half and steam them together. Just give the asparagus about a minute head start to make sure it softens at the same time. Sprinkle with a little Mrs. Dash while they are still damp and they are healthier than heck with no added oils or calories.

Grill them! Add just a touch of olive oil to them..just enough to make them glisten. Wrap in aluminum foil and grill on medium high heat for about 10-12 minutes! If you like your red peppers truly roasted, leave the skins on them, and place directly on the grill..char the skins until black, toss in a paper bag to steam the skins off, and then remove the skins.
Grilling give veggies such a nice, smoky flavor - I grill all my veggies all summer long!
I hope this helps!

I luv them both oven roasted.
Pre-heat 400 degree oven olive oil lightly a cooking sheet.
On cooking sheet lay out clean, & sliced pepers, clean whole asparagus, sprinkle with Balsamic Vingear & cracked black -pepper.
Baked until done about 30 mintues.
or do the same thing only Using Olive Oil, salt & pepper.
I get rave reviews when I take this to pot lucks.

Grill them ... very hot fire . .. for the asparagus use a "skillet" with lots of holes in it.
Roll in olive oil . .. or butter . .. with lemon and garlic in either. Toss on the skillet until al dente.
Red Bell Peppers . .. salt, pepper, olive oil ...turn frequently until skin begins to burst all around.

Last night I threw the asparagus in the skillet as I cooked a catfish fillet. Everything was done at the same time and it was fast and easy.
