and aren't all dogfood's made from animals that are treated just like human food......
Isn't it against the belief to buy products of that nature?

here's a little lesson for you back.....
evolution suggests that all omnivores are much higher in intelligence than vegitarians.... do your research before you lecture.... primates, pigs, and bears are all highly intellegent... and any animal with K-9 teeth is adapted to eat meat.... besides.... it has been shown as fact, that humans could not have developed such a highly developed cerebral cortex without the consumption of animal protein...... look it up, or just answer the question without the long "incorrect" lecture.... also we have the enzymes to digest animal protein... ergo... we are natural evolutionary omnivores.
now be nice.

rotten cherrie, you must have misread what I wrote...... guessing you didn't get to be in honors reading comprehension.
I am talking about species evolved on omnivore diets.... not that vegitarians are dumb..... well.... except those who can't understand what they are reading. I am simply saying, try to stay with me here, that species who are evolutionary omnivores have developed their advanced brain from animal protein..... that there are no highly developed strict vegetarian animals. How stupid you must feel after that barrage of insults when you simply didn't read what was before you correctly.
Be nice.

I feed my pet veggies. I feed him salad and carrots right off my plate sometimes. We both love the Newman's baby carrots. My pet is a rabbit though. I think they are the best pets...they can be litter trained, they're very social, quiet, perfectly fine in a cage if you have to leave them un-attended and you don't have to buy yucky meat products for them to eat.

And btw, I have been a vegetarian my entire life, a vegan for the past two years and my cerebral cortex was developed enough to get a big scholarship at one of America's best universities. Also, I happen to have been born without canine teeth, so not all humans have them. Maybe we're evolving?

Here's a little lesson for you.

Humans are not made to eat meat. We do not possess the right teeth or digestive system. You can try to dispute this but these are proven facts.
Now many animals were created to be omnivores, which would include cats and dogs. Rabbits, and guinea pigs for example, are herbivores, so those kind of pets are already eating veggies.

I am not vegan, I am an omnivore.

Dogs are not carnivores. They are omnivore. They absolutely require veggies. I do not "make" my service dog eat veggies, he loves to eat veggies. Yes I feed my dog meat but I make sure to buy meat that is organic, locally produced and which I have personally seen that the farmers treat the animals well.

People who feed only meat to their dogs and in fact to their cats have serious problems. If you don't feed meat your animals will suffer. They both needs a balance that is right for them. Dogs will eat about 1/3 of their calories in veggies. Cats will die quickly if fed no meat and will slowly die if fed no veggies.

All the vegans and vegetarians I know feed a balanced diet to their animals.

Depends. And just to let you know, genius, when I am at school I TAKE HONORS CLASSES AND I AM AT THE TOP OF THE CLASS EVERY TIME. AND I am a vegan. Coincidence? No. I was always in honors classes but GUESS WHAT? I NEVER ate that much meat, never never, at most, once a month! AND veggies are PROVEN to have higher IQs than bloody, vicious, murderous, hideous MEAT EATERS! Beat THAT, Einstein!

They probably shouldn't, but it depends on the pet. Some pets cannot live without animal protiens, like cats. Neither can dogs (and be healthy). Cats will get the protien they need if let outside (as will dogs - cats may start to disappear from the neighborhood).

The imposition of somedietary lifestyle on an animal generally turns to disaster. The general ruls is that a predator (dog, cat) requires animal protien, and if denied it, they will siken and die. You can keep natural vegs like rabits without any problem...

Since dogs are carnivores, it seems like it would be really unhealthy to never give them meat, whether in regular dog food or scraps form the table. Since no meat scraps are coming their way in a vegan house, I sure would hope the vegan pet owner is concerned enough about animal rights to give the animal the best nutrition possible for their species... and for dogs, it includes meat!

Our multi-species family includes cats, rats, mice, aquatic animals & humans. Cats are obligate carnivores, so we give them organic chicken-based cat food, only brands that use "human-grade" ingredients (many commercial cat & dog foods have ingredients that you wouldn't want to eat no matter what your usual diet might be). We give our aquatics an appropriate diet for their needs, also. Our rats & mice thrive on vegan fare, which includes organic vegan dog food. My SO & I do just fine with a fleshless diet.

Not always, if you try you can find pet foods that are vegetarian and use other proteins, or possibly cruelty-free in some way. It's all about your ethics and what you want to stand up for.

My dog eats meat, but he also eats quite a few fruits and veggies. He loves blueberries and carrots. He won't eat the vegetarian dog food though.

They might.
The vegans I've known didn't.

Actually... many vegans abhor animal slavery and the unnaturalness of common 'pet' addiction.
