You should check your blood sugars routinely 2 hours after eating. If they are over 120, you could be diabetic. Diabetics don't usually have low blood sugar unless they give themselves too much insulin.
Is the 50-60 range in the morning before breakfast, and the 170 right after you eat?

The readings of 50-60 is too low and could indicate hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). As for that reading of 170, when we eat something the blood sugar of someone who is not Diabetic will go up for a bit but then it starts going down. In someone who is Diabetic the sugars stay up consistently unless treatment is given.
The only way to find out if you are having problems with your blood sugar is to see your dr.
As for the going to the bathroom a lot, it can also indicate a urinary tract infection.
Please get in to see your dr to have them evaluate these situations further.

You must have a tester to know the score? While it is highly unlikely that you have it, in rare cases of juvenile onset diabetes some adults actually get it when they are in their 20's and 30's. If you have a family history of it, you are more likely to bring it on only if you are a binge drinker, have a poor diet and excercise, and if you do not get a good night's sleep. Symptoms? Do you ever wake in the middle of the night with leg cramps? Is your vision blurry sometimes or do you feel faint sometimes when you are standing? Do you feel extra thirsty, like you could drink 6 gallons of water and it would not be enough? Do you go to the bathroom a lot? Do you feel more tired than normal? These are all definite signs of juvenile diabetes (the insulin dependent type). If none of those apply to you, I would still go get checked at a physician's office. It could be other things like anemia or pregnancy!

What you are describing as sugars 50 to 60 is hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. If this is occuring imediately after meals, then you are having a paradoxical effect probably due to eating a large amount of carbs. Balance this out by eating some protein with your carbs.
The body's response to a meal is an increase in blood sugar triggering the pancreas to release insulin.
A diabetic either does not make insulin (Type I) or is resistant to it (Type II).
Normal glucose levels:
Fasting - less than 100
1 hr after meals - less than 200
2 hours after meals - less than 140
Talk to your doctor

Best way to find that out is by having it checked by a doctor. But sounds more like you have either just eaten sweets or drank a coke or some other drank with a lot of sugar in it. And if it is Coke, don't know if you know it or not but Coke is a mild diuretic and so is Tea.
Still it is best to have it checked by a doctor especially if it runs in your family.

The only way to know for sure is to be tested. Normal blood glucose values can vary widely depending on what has been eaten in the last couple of hours.

Probably the only way to tell is for a doctor to run a test. Its a five hour test. You go in - in the morning before you eat or drink anything- they take your blood. Then they give you this sicky sweet drink - you wait one hour and they take your blood- they continue taking your blood for the next 3 or four hours -
