the excess sugars the diabetic carries in the blood stream makes it very much harder for the liver to filter and clean the blood, the lack of ability to metabolize the sugar for the energy it provides makes the liver, already working too hard to filter, work without fuel. Without adequate control, the diabetic can go into liver failure, same with the kidneys.

One woman I know of who was a diabetic died of liver problems. Diabetes damages small blood vessels. The small blood vessels in her liver became so damaged that her liver was not receiving an adequate blood supply and she died.
