it really does depend on what type of bar you have and where its located. Live music is always a winner. Drink specials too.
Check with your distributors and see what they will bring in for you. Absolut and Bacardi Distributors are always so willing to not only give you stuff for your patrons, but are more than willing to help you plan, just ot get their product out there. Also, if you carry scotches, see what they'll do for you. Try Dalmore scotches, they are sooooooooo giving to the bars and clubs.
Good Luck!

You could always do specific drink specials for every night of the week... for example: $1 drafts on Mondays (football night!), $2 single-liquor drinks (like rum & cokes and tequila sunrises) on Tuesdays, etc., etc... on Friday and Saturday nights make it $3 martini/margarita nights to draw in the girly-girls, and the guys will pay full price for the beer and hard liquor. It never hurts to have a clean, smoke-free place with an accessible and comfortable area for the nic-fitter (no trooping outside in the cold to the final forty).
Other than that, you can always do tv-show specific specials:
During American Idol, every time Simon says "pathetic", declare a 'pathetic special' and give $1 off all drinks ordered in the next 3 minutes, stuff like that. If you've got a nice enough place let yourself get creative and follow trends, you won't be hurting for customers.

What I hear around here is "no cover before 9 PM"... that could be adjusted to suit your crowds in yoru area.
How about specials on one-liquor mixed drinks? So a martini wouldn't count, but a vodka-tonic would.
"25 cent call drinks"... not sure, but I'm guessing they are watered down!
How about a night of speed dating?

A different kind of beer every night discounted. Draft of course. Like a dollar off pitchers and .50 off pints. And pitchers usually lead to shots, which make money...

Go to www.7440club.com This place used to be a little whole in the wall biker bar, now it was voted best night club in Sacramento California. The owners name is Rocky, he used to be one of the bartenders. Check out his site, they have really made a success of this bar and they have great ideas!!!! Good LUCK!!!!

live band, karoke, trivia night, 70's night, 80's night, wet t'shirt,
Depending on the type of bar you have. Sports on every channel, trivia machines, darts (luck of the draw, leagues) pool leagues, sponser a softball team or bowling team something like that
