Hi David,
I have had ectopic heart bears for over 20 years. I know that they are most disconcerting. As long as you have seen a doctor about these, and have had the beats diagnosed as benign, there is nothing to worry about as I understand it.
However, I do still feel fear. I guess we just have to live with it. I have read that caffeine, nicotine and any other stimulates in foods ,may make ectopic beats worsen. I don't know of any food that you should eat that will help. I walk on a tread mill a lot, and this exercise will usually help with the extra beats.
Stress is another factor, and it is best to try to be unstressed. I guess this is a hard call, when you are stressed about them. I would tell your doctor that you are concerned and ask for some counselling in an effort to try and accept them. I would ask about the exercise as well, you would need to work up to this.

What are ectopic beats?
Extra heartbeats, called 'ectopic beats', are very common. They may be come either from the atria, the upper chambers of the heart, or the ventricle, the lower chambers. Ectopic beats are not in themselves dangerous and do not damage the heart.

I have been diagnosed with PVC"s with a 30 day holter. It is a little uncomfortable the wirers have to stay on the electrodes & the monitor can't get wet. If your skin is sensative ask for the hypo-alergetic adhevsive patches so it won't irratate your shin or make it red or itch. The monitor is the best way to see whats going on especially if you are active on it & just go about your normal affairs as to bring on the episodes you experience so it is recorded & analized by cardo. This way you will get a proper & exaxt diagnosis. I thought i had gas but it is skipped beats & not serious. Very frightning though & not pleasant at all to have all day. There are several types of arrythmias. You sound like u have one, palpatations(fast heart rate) is one. Most of the time not serious but you did the right thing by checking it out & with a specalist of the heart. I am a retired nurse..Good luck & don't worry....

I have the same problem, and don't know of any foods that would help. What helps me the most is that my Doctor is a Cardiologist and he has me come in periodically for an echo cardiogram. Lots of people, I am told, have this problem. Good luck.
