as you may know, the sherpas are the ones carrying the loadsd, and who knows, they probably climbed and come down tens of times, then some englishman goes up and claims the credit? they climb like the last 10 feet?

I agree-it's racist that the sherpa's aren't at the "top" of the lists for the mountains they've climbed over and over and over again, carrying the gear, no less!

I agree with the answer that all that perform amazing feats deserve credit. Those that understand the mountains and the sport will give due credit. I would say that most serious alpinist are as familiar with the name Hillary as they are Norgay.
