Yes you are right.

The beneficial health effects of olive oil are due to both its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and its high content of antioxidative substances. Studies have shown that olive oil offers protection against heart disease by controlling LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels while raising HDL (the "good" cholesterol) levels. (1-3) No other naturally produced oil has as large an amount of monounsaturated as olive oil -mainly oleic acid.

An oil even better for you than olive oil is called Hemp Oil, this is available at most health food stores and is great for all sorts of things. Olive oil is a natural product it is therefor easier for the system to break down and absorb. Lots of other vegetable oils can cause problems with the digestive system and yes olive oil is good for the skin and lots of other things as well. Like any product when you have a bad heart you have to take things in moderation. Given the choice I would either take Hemp Oil or Olive oil.

Olive oil is better than other oils and you can cook with it, it has a very high burning temperature so it is better for cooking as well but it has a string taste and is expensive which is why some people avoid it.
Olive oil is a Monosaturated fat and may be good for people with low HDL levels and high triglycerides, but any fat is fat and you should keep the total fat content of your diet below 20%. Also butter substitute spreads with olive oil are not good for you, because of the additives they put in to turn oil solid so you can spread it, just sprinkle olive oil on your bread instead of butter or marg.

Olive oil is still a fat but it has Omega 3s in it which are good for your heart as long as you don't over do it. Use it cold on salads (olive oil and lemon make a great healthy dressing) or instead of butter in some cases. Do not cook with it.

do not use olive oil in a deep frying pan as when you heat this oil above 100 degrees it tends to break down and become toxic and yes it can kill but to simply heat it to say fry in a frying pan you should be ok it is not suitable to deep fry chips that's why they use veg oil too do this in Italy spain etc use the right oil for the job that you are doing do not think that you are being clever as you are not but you can all ways google what you can and can not use olive oil for

When cooking with fats, olive oil is a healthy choice. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fat, which can lower your risk of heart disease by reducing the total and low-density protein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol levels in your blood.

In contrast, saturated and trans fats — such as butter, tropical oils and hydrogenated margarines — increase your risk of heart disease by increasing your total and LDL cholesterol levels.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), consuming about 2 tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil a day may reduce your risk of heart disease. You can get the most benefit by substituting olive oil for saturated fats rather than just adding more olive oil to your diet.

All types of olive oil provide monounsaturated fat, but "extra-virgin" or "virgin" olive oils are the least processed forms. As a result, they contain the highest levels of polyphenols, a powerful antioxidant.

Olive oil also is good for the skin. The oil's fat composition is very similar to that of human skin, said Dieter Oberg, who represents a Munich-based organization offering information about olive oil. Therefore, olive oil generally doesn't cause any allergic reactions.

Take any oil and do your own work physical and mental insted of asking to do some one. While going to office walk for 3 kilo meters and then catch bus or train. if you are using 2 Wheeler push it for 1 kilo meter and then ride. If you are using 4 wheeler clean and wash it your self daily. you will not have time to think on oil to be used and your health will be perfect.
