I have been in a monogamous relationship with my spouse for over 15 years. Recently we both tested positive for recent exposure to HSV2. Obviously, I suspect my husband. He denies wrong doing. The only innocent explaination is my brother, who is HSV2 positive. He sometimes scratches my back for me until it very red and even bleeding. Recently, he was complaining of numbness tingling in his hands and pain and muscle weakness. I asked him to go to the Doc, but he refuses. He has this same condition at least once or twice a year. It lasts for a couple of weeks or more and then goes away. Is it likely that he could have infected me when he scratched my back? The hand doesn't have blisters or bumps on it. It just has tingling numbness and pain. Also, please explain how high titer count proves recent 1st time exposure. Thanks.

Do you or your husband have cold sores by chance?
Cold sores can be caused by herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2)also, not just genital herpes. And, genital herpes can be caused by HSV1, not just HSV2.
If both of you have cold sores or have ever had a cold sore then it can come up positive for herpes on a blood test. Even if you have never actually experienced a cold sore, it's still possible for you to have the virus in your body. Most people contract cold sores from kissing someone who has them. It's VERY common.
As for your brother, it is HIGHLY unlikely that you would get the virus from him by just a back rub. Herpes CAN be spread by DIRECT skin to skin contact, but he would have had to been rubbing or touching his genital area right before he touched you. It's just not very likely.
Good luck!

I got identified with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years back, when I was still in college and had a foolish one-night stand. I understand a lot of girls will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/YlmlV everything improved.
Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a crowded cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This method gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the whole World.

Oh my. I am so sorry for you right now. Did you know that there is a HIGH percentage of people in the world with HSV1 and HSV2 that DON'T KNOW they have it? Some people are just carriers and never have an outbreak. This is one of the worst things about herpes... You can never trace back to where you got it.
It could have very likely been your brother, BUT, most likely it wasn't. It's not that easy to spread the herpes virus like that. Good luck to you!

This is highly unlikey. Herpes is found in nerve cells where they stay dormant. Herpes is not found in blood it is passed through skin to skin contact. Your brother would of had to of masturbated with his outbreaked penis, then scratched your back then immediately your husband would have had to of rubbed his penis on your back and even that is unlikley. You can have herpes for years and not have an outbreak, evne 15 years! Get some antivirals and you will be fine, herpes sucks but its not life threatening and outbreaks become less severe over time

If you are unsure if it is herpes, it could likely be scabies, or perhaps even shingles.
