i have a friend, she thinks she's ugly and relies on her elder sister to go and do everything with and for her.
Everyone tells her shes sooo pretty, and she really is, no one calls ehr ugly, no one, becasue shes gorgouse, but she thinks shes hidiouse.
she also relies on ehr sister all the time.
she relies on ehr for everything.
there too close, i tried telling the elder sister to giver her some space, but she says the psace isnt needed, i tried telling ehr, she needs it and she doesnt know how it feels unless she tries it. but she refuses. and says she has tried.
i dont knwo what to do about my friend, the tihng is, she needs ot wear glasses all the time, otherwise shell go blind, but she is very preocupied about ehr looks, she hardly ever wears them. i understand it's lack in confidence and low selfesteeem and she need to fix it herself. but i dont think she can. she's always calling ehrself ugly and hidiouse.
i highly doubt its attention seeking.
what should i do?

Try & encourage her to come out without her sister, get the sister to say she cant make it on some occasions.
how about trying contact lenses? this could give her the boost she needs.
Keep telling her how great she is,
The sister seems to like the attention, does she knock your friends confidence to make her self look better? if so encourage her to make the break she doesn`t need someone who feeds off her.
it sounds like the sister needs to get her own life & leave your friend to lead hers.

I think she has this fear of facing people. Invite her to go out and have some fun without her elder sister tagging along. Maybe things will gradually change.

yeah i was going to say are you sure shes not just doing it so she can have attention and have people tell her shes pretty and whatever???,,,ask her if you could give her a make over..do her hair and make-up for her pick out a cute alfit and go out to lunch.

She needs help to change her personal opinion. Its a matter of self esteem. Please positively encourage her to reinforce the fact, that she is NOT ugly.

sounds to me that she is lazy and just fishing for compliments
