In the past weeks I've gone against my own advice a lot.

Unfortunately instead of focusing on new comers here that are reaching out for help I focused anger and spent too much time defending myself and others against people who have no interest in learning about nutrition, diet & our country's inhumane practices.

In fact they'd wish you to believe they are trying to prove you wrong, but instead they are actually only working to reinforce and prove themselves right. One coward in particular who let it be known is originally al_sparagus, then following vegan_soldier, Fundiefckr, endive1976, endive1977, & his most recent manifestation Muscovichslov. Only such a coward would dedicate so much time to follow fantasy vendettas that he instigated & has no true backbone in life to show integral opposition..only defamatory nonsense.

With all this in mind I've decided to start working on a website. I can strait link and also provide stable content to people without running the chance of it being publicly attacked so much as here.

Does anyone also know how you can develop a site with the wiki format? I've seen many websites like this now that focus primarily on information, but was unable to find any links to a code format or program that uploads information like this.

Also take this as a public record that I am genuinely thanking al_sparagus. You only succeeded in making me analyze myself deeper and you shouldn't flatter yourself as I run into people such as you very often..the only distinction here is they weren't cowards hiding behind a screen. Kudos to you for the motivation as I'm thinking this website idea is probably the best thing I could be doing right now to help other people.

Oh. I still plan on doing as much as I legally can to repay you fully for all the trouble you caused other people. I am not a liar and this shouldn't be taken lightly.

sounds like a great idea! i like everyone's suggestions so far - recipes, facts, alternatives, etc.
i think you should also include information on how to properly transition from eating meat to vegetarianism, from vegeterianism to veganism, from veganism to raw foods, etc. that is quite important.
i think a general 'lifestyle' section would be great...for example, i read somewhere that vegetarians are more likely to practice yoga and pilates. i know a lot of vegetarians juice, recycle, garden, etc. maybe you could post some useful information about those things too!
good luck with that...please keep us posted on the progress.

::Edit::
i just thought of this one! product reviews. i see a lot of posts on here asking about various products: does it taste good? is it truly vegan? is it easy to prepare? i think that would also be a nice addition.

I would totally be interested in your website. I would very much like to see content and information that would help vegans manage to be healthy (vit B12 is a common concern) WITHOUT GREAT QUANTITIES OF SOYA. This is what I am currently struggling with and why I am not a vegan yet. I want to be as I couldn't agree more about the inhumane practices etc. but find myself still concerned that veganism is neither sustainable nor healthy in the long-term, especially since the only people I know who tout this lifestyle also subsist mainly on "meat replacement" products.

Everyone has had some great ideas, but I would probably go with piano_kath. I, too, feel as though veganism cannot be sustained for long lengths of time because it requires much dependence on "meat-replacement" products. I have tried both veganism and vegetarianism and even cutting out all red meats from my diet and became very anemic as a result. So be careful to not demonize everyone who eats meat--some of us need it more that others.

It would be nice to see some articles as to how to make tasty dishes out of grains such as buckwheat, triticale, amaranth, quinoa, bulgur, couscous, etc. Also links to websites that have some good vegan recipes would be nice.

Finally, don't spend all of your precious time trying to explain to others as to why you are vegan. Not everybody is going to get it and it will only bog you down in anger. I wish you luck.

em. you write a bit long.

lol.

but I think in a vegan website, it's nice to have some facts about nutritional values of all veges and non-meat products so that people can easily allocate what they need to eat to remain a vegan, yet healthy.

SEcond, talk about the positives of being a vegan.
relate this to the health benefits and to the environment.

Third, if you can, have a bulletin board where people can discuss issues on being vegan or things related.

remember. whatever you do in life, there will be oppositions to your opinions, but only when you keep your emotions out of the way and think about the problems with a clear, openmind can you see the true solutions!

Good luck!

great Idea.. I hope you can make it happen. Maybe some good will come out of you having to deal with that fool. Daily recipe's section.. Give a solid list of foods and the essential nutrients. Have a link to The Canola oil video. http://www.daghettotymz.com/dgtv/home.html

Come up with meal planning based of workout routine. You could even give exercise tips. General forum where people can discuss Ideas. Try to maintain set moderators. to watch the Forum. So if people get rowdy you can warn or kick them off. You could have a Health News section. Good luck.

Nowhere, if you are buying content, that person is probably selling it to many others. You need to come up with your own content or pay someone to write it. If you pay someone to write it, get it written down in a contract that you are the sole owner of that content. Lots of scams in this area.
