they say that frequent urination and excessive thirst are big symptoms of diabetes. but which comes first? i mean, do you pee a lot so you then get thirsty? or are you thirsty, so you drink, and therefore pee a lot? i dont think i have frequent urination, but i am always thirsty. so i drink a lot of crystal lite (water), or diet coke....nothing with sugar is what i'm trying to say. i'm not sure if i'm still insulin resistant or if i'm full blown diabetic (my labs are still pending w/ follow up with doc). my blood sugars are pretty much always <180 with only a few exceptions.

well, first come the thirsty,so you drink a lot,and naturally after that you begin to pee a lot.
you must now that there are 2 types of diabet, type 1( insulin dependant),and type 2(non insulin dependant)...you need to do some tests first to see if you are a diabetic person(for real)

Your symptoms could be due to many more conditions than diabetes. However, you mention that you are or were IR and are now wondering if you are diabetic. You also say your BG is under 180. This number has to be taken in the context of time of last meal. This is because you want to know if it is a fasting number or the result of a recent meal's effect and how your body is handling the particular foods you've eaten. This is one of the reasons frequent testing (with one of the at home meters) is so very helpful in controlling BG.

When I began testing my BG three months ago (1 1/2 years after I was diagnosed as "pre-diabetic") I got some 300+ after meals and I was getting 150s in the mornings before breakfast. I hardly ever got below 140. Now, through diet and simply increasing my activity level, most of the time my numbers are in the normal range! I am so impressed by the effectiveness of diet and activity that I started a Yahoo Group two days ago called "Overcoming Diabetes Naturally". I would like to invite you or anyone else to come to our group's homepage and see if it is something that might help you. Here is the link:

I wish you well with your lab tests. But even if they don't turn out as good as you would like, don't despair. There is so much you can do with just diet and exercise if you give it a really good effort. We have one member who has had diabetes for 10 years and has controlled it the whole time without meds! So, if you need advice and support to overcome diabetes naturally (without meds) , please consider our group.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

With blood sugars at 180 go see a endocrinologist sound like you might be diabetic. Is this 180 after eating or when you get up in the morning or what. I have had diabetes since i was 7 thats right at 35 yrs. 180 is high for a normal blood sugar my doctor likes it below 110 and with his help it stays around 107

Excessive thirst, frequent urination, in some case weight loss, dizziness...there isn't a set standard. You can have one or all. If your sugar is 180 then that is not normal. It should be between 60-110. You should be fasting when you have your blood work done. Hopefully your doctor can tell you more when he/she gets your test results back.

One of the symptoms is if you haven't eaten for a while you might start to get the shakes or feel very tired. You can get a blood sugar level checker at any drug store.
