No, losing weight does not make it worse. That is a good rate of loss per week. Remember many things you eat turn to sugar sooner than you realize. To many carbs, to large of portions can make it higher.do you get the monthly magazine called Diabetes Forcast? If not get it. Yes it is summer and fruit is yummy maybe you are eating to large of a portion. For a week test more. Hour before meals 2 after. chart what you eat then you can get a clearer overall picture. Diabetes has to be a pain at times but it is controable. Also I have had many med adjustments over the last few years. Meds are a helpmate as you may know ...Test before you exercise also...Good Luck

How long has it been rising? To what levels? What are your lows and what are your highs? When does it happen -- 1 hour after meals, 2 hours? There are a lot of observations you need to make. Some have already been suggested. How long have you been diabetic (if you are.. I am assuming since you don't say)? How are you managing to lose the weight? How have you changed your diet?
Well, I guess I could keep asking questions... lol However, I would like to let you know about a new group I have started for those of us with high blood glucose - Insulin Resistance, Pre-diabetes, Diabetes 2 -- it doesn't matter what it is called; high blood glucose is a health problem and we need to control it. My group focuses on controlling it without meds if at all possible, through healthy diets and more activity (not necessarily gym style-- just more activity). It is called Overcoming Diabetes Naturally. If you are interested go to:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/overcomingdiabetesnaturally/
If it looks like what you need to help you (advice and support from others who have your problem -- we are not professional ; just others with the same problem), you are welcome to join.

Try having a good look at the G.I. Diet by Rick Gallop. I think you will find this interesting and give you a VERY good idea as to how your food and the type of food you eat, can make your sugar levels spike. Understand this and you will not only lose weight, but your sugar levels will level themselves right out.

Do you have diabetes? Talk to an endocrinologist. Consider a continuous glucose monitor (DEXCOM) to see what foods raise your sugar and what exercise does for you. If you have type 1 ask about changing your basal dose of insulin, and correction dose if you have type 2 talk about switching meds. Diet and exercise are important but if your body does not produce insulin or does not use it correctly the underlying problem still remains, and diet is irrelevant.

exercise on a regular schedule. watch what your eating, if you are dieting look at the sugar and carb's per servings. a lot of fruits has natural sugar which will raise your levels.a lot of fruit makes my sugar go very high so do research to see which ones would be the best for you. good luck.

some factors may interfere with glucose readings and you should really get a blood test to make sure your glucometer is giving you a correct reading.
IE A high hematocrit level will interfer and give you a high glucose reading. Are you on a new medication, eating something different than normal?

I've been having the same problem. It could be that your stressing over the fact that your blood sugar is high, although there are other variables at work.

Go to an endocrinologist and get checked for diabetes...infections and steroid drugs can make blood sugar go up (besides diet)...
