Hi, I recently noticed my abdomen has a pulse (not just when lying down) and im not skinny. I am only 18, unbelieveably low risk for an aneurysm (Normal cholest., no heraditary diseases, no trauma, ETC.) Theres basicly almost no chance I can have one. Yet I suffer from bad health anxiety, so I am terrified.,

About 3 months ago I had an untrasound of my heart done (normal) along with a stress test. Would they have scanned my aorta quickly to check for an aneurysm? I dont remember the event too well. Im not too sure if they did. Is this a procedure they do when performaing an ultrasound?

Did they run the instrument over your tummy and take measurements? If not then they didn't echo the aorta. Sometimes the aorta runs closer to the front of the body and is more easily felt. Do you feel a bulge? Has the doctor felt for one? He would be able to tell you if you needed an echo of the aorta.

Hi there.

What is your height? do you have an unusually long arm span? Some people who have this Marfanoid conditions are particular at a higher risk to develop aneurysms in the aorta, even at a young age.

Have a cardiologist or a vascular specialist see you . they wil most likely request an abdominal ultrasound, and this issue could easily be settled. If the abdominal aorta is quite big, then a CT scan of the abdoman would also be warranted.

for peace of mind I would go to the doctor for this. It's not good to feel that much anxiety. There is a very high chance that it is anxiety causing your heart to beat hard. There is a tiny chance it could be your aorta.

You are okay. You have pulses all over your body. You are paying close attention to your body because you are so anxious; consequently you notice every little thing and think it is abnormal, which makes you more anxious....

Are you doing anything about your anxiety issues? Maybe it's time to see a doctor or therapist.
