The rainy season is here and it always brings my health down, I need to keep my wieght on so my body has the fighting power to protect against random viruses. I'm 5'4" and I wiegh 98 lbs. that is not good at all. I am struggling to keep the wieght I have, much less gain more, any suggestions? My current diet already has at least 3000 cal. a day. Hey - I also have problems with my weight when my Lupus flares up. I am 5'2 and the last flare up brought me down to 88 , I looked like a walking skeleton, so I know what your going thru. What the other person said was right. eat high calorie foods. The doctor had them give me two lunchs and two dinners when I was in the hospital and when I got home I literally had to eat all day. I also drank these shakes (I used something called muscle milk) that you can buy at the health food store, either add milk or water and i would blend it up with a banana. They can add an extra 600 calories or so, so i would eat two or three a day. Just remeber , it takes time. I ate fast food alot (which I really dont like) but that helped also. It took about 12 weeks for me to get back to where I normally am 107., so dont give up if it doesnt happen really fast. GOod Luck and I hope you feel better ;)

I'm a volunteer at the children's hospital and a lot of the patients are CF patients. i remember theer was once a patient in a situation similar to yours. I remember the doctors telling him to eat high calorie foods. So virtually the docotrs were making him eat fast food and pretty much told his nurse to feed him whatever he wanted.

Smoking has a tendency to get rid of your urge for nutrients. besides the shown fact that, I in simple terms stopped smoking after 30 years - One month basically and that i dont see an boost in urge for nutrients yet I do decide to chew on gum or have a candy as there's a might desire to maintain my mouth occupied-instead of having a ciggie in my mouth.
