Corn is great raw.

The biggest risk is contamination by unhygenic growing conditions. Every now and then you will hear of food contaminated by E. Coli, and that is a result of inappropriate fertilizers or contaminated water supply.

Be sure to wash your food well.

Some vegetables and fruits can be extremely dangerous raw under certain conditions. Very fresh limes exude a chemical onto their skin that can seriously damage skin. It's called Limonine, and it is photoactive so it gets worse if you go into the sun.

do give em a good wash
removing the peel or skin removes alot of pesticided but they do remain if you cook em & not peel em

there are only a few things you cant eat raw (its not meat)
beans especailly soya & kidney need to be cooked

but all veg is ok just about.

on the other side eating a bit of dirt is good for you as it builds up your immune system.

our Dr - 99% no drugs has been in the UK for 20 years and never used antibiotics. He tells us that dirt can be good as when the Germans tried to invade some country they all got ill as they had no immune system

also alot of these anibacterail cleaners are bad for us, use citricidal as a cleaner rather than chemicals

Some foods can't be eaten raw, but I'm so used to cooking what foods which way I do I don't know if I can recall many. Potatoes...? hmm corn probably wouldn't be too good raw, don't know if it's dangerous raw though. Nuts are best in raw form.

I know theres more, a lot more..but I'm a bit cluster-headed atm, hopefully other people have more input :)

Well, everyone along with myself are agreeing. You would only need to make sure it's washed properly.
I find eating raw/ fresh fruits and vegetables is in fact healthier, because when it is altered by heat from cooking, you would actually remove some of it's healthy nutrients!

As long as they are washed good before you eat them, you are fine. Actually, uncooked organic veggies/fruits are basically the healthiest things you can eat because when they are cooked, a lot of their nutrition is lost. Also the purest forms of essential vitamins come from raw, uncooked organic vegetables and fruits. I hope that helps!

I like to eat raw vegitables. I eat mostly celery, broccoli, carrots, cauloflour, and stuff like that. I would imagine that corn would be hard to eat raw. I don't know of nay side effects accept for gas. Some people get gas when they eat raw veggies.

Wash them just before you use them, don't over cook them and remember they have some levels of toxins even if they are labeled organic. Canned goods have already cooked out a lot of the nutrients.

The only risk that can be serious is germs. If you wash it really well in running water then you reduce the risk. However, the best thing to do will be to steam/boil the veggies.

Yes, make sure you wash them really good because most people spray them with pesticides. I had a friend that ate a pea and she didnt wash, then her throat started to swell up, and she had to go to the hospital

You need to make sure they are properly washed to remove any dirt or bacteria. They are harder to chew and harder to digest than cooked vegetables. But if your teeth are in good shape, and your system tolerates them, they are very good for you, with more vitamins and fiber than after they are cooked.
