You didn't mention what sort of ideas you needed, so here are some thoughts:

1. Hold your event outside in a garden area. Hang little white lights around the area and use fresh cut flowers as centerpieces for your tables.
2. Use table linens and napkins as well as nice plates (which can also be paper) and silverware.
3. Make sure that you have music in an eclectic style....a little bit of everything for everyone.
4. Food should be elegant but simple, such as: baked brie en croute, asparagas wrapped in prosciutto, smokies baked in crescent rolls, cheese platter with crisp green grapes and a variety of crackers and breads, cured meat platter with marinated artichoke hearts, marinated mushrooms and an olive medley, fruit kabobs with a yogurt or sour cream and brown sugar dipping sauce, two pastas: one vegetarian and one with a meat sauce, such as baked ziti, green salad or chopped salad with blue cheese and candied walnuts with fresh pears and a light vinagrette, bowls of mixed nuts or trail mix, and a variety of desserts such as brownies, cookies, and cupcakes.

Hold your event in the evening hours to make use of the sunset and cooler weather. Have fun!
