If you are not currently using insulin you may need a small dose before bedtime. If you are on insulin you may need a long acting insulin before bedtime. My fasting sugar has always been my highest. My doctor put me on lantus at bedtime and that helped some. While recently trying to get my glucose levels lowered prior to surgery my doc put me on lantus in the morning too and that did the trick. Definitely contact you doctor.

You need some kind of insulin. Ask your doctor to get you started on Lantus, long acting insulin you take once a day. I had the same problem as you and this did the trick for me.

It really sounds like you need several things:
1. A new endocrinologist.
2. An insulin regimen
3. Knowledge about diabetes
4, Knowledge about dehydration.
And, a really good endocrinologist will take care of the rest. Good luck in your search for a good doctor.

Here is a new medication that has done wonders for family members. http://www.biatta.info/
It has done wonders. New so some Docs don't about it. Consider this before insulin. My wife was having problems. Always about 200 to 220, now about 120, every morning.

You have to ask to your endocrinologist to give you some insulin, particularly have a shot of rapid insulin by night (it will keep glucose well during night when it rises, as you tell) but never have rapid insulin without a meal, it may lower the glucose too much during your sleep.

Well if the oral medications aren't working for you, then your pancreas may have burned out to the point where you will need to start injecting insulin. Besides improving your diet and exercise, your diabetes clearly needs more appropriate medical managment. You should get in to see your internist or endocrinologist as soon as possible.

hi,
for sure u need better diabetes control. if not on insulin better to start one, secondly hydration was important for u as high sugar tend to cause osmotic dehydration by passing excessive urine, which is one of the symptom of the dm. loosing weight is also imp as it ll improve the effectiveness of insulin therapy.
