Greenpeace and the Sierra Club are two well-known private organizations. In the US the Environmental Protection Agency is the most prominent governmental agency working in this area.

There is a school in Brunei called ISB. It has recently used the money that it made form recycling to plant 1200 trees as part of the Heart of Borneo project. They have just launched a project ' The Million Tree' project to again support the Heart of Borneo project. In the near future they hope to be able to offer the facility to donate money to go directly towards planting trees.
One of the aims of planting on Borneo is to link back together the rain forest through the centre of the Island to allow Orang Utans to move more freely and therefore allow the population to grow. On top of that Borneo hosts an amazing range of new and endangered plant and animal species and species not found anywhere else on this planet who would also benefit from the planting of trees.
