Has anyone with an upper respiratory infection experienced chest soreness? I have one and am an asthmatic and my chest constantly hurts. I went to the docs and they gave me an antibiodic and a new inhaler. I'm already on Pulmicort, Albuterol, Singulair and now Advair.

Is the soreness due to the asthma or the infection? And what can I do to stop the pain and soreness in my chest?

first off make sure your doctor is up to date with your condtion and that he or she is up to date with asthma .
next sleep sittting up proped up with many pillows even sleep in a easy boy chair.
drink clear fluids no milk tea or good.
you can apply the different rubs to your chest like A535 and the like . soak in the tub or have a hot shower .
most important is that you sleep and rest sitting up .

Might be pleurisy.(google it) could be asthma or bronchitus. Soak in a hot tub or take a steamy shower. Use a heating pad. Take some ibuprophen. Try to relax and lean back on some pillows.

Call your doctor again and explain that your condition has not improved. Do not settle for anything less than having them see you again. Any infection or anything induced into your system has an effect on your child that is why it is important to let your doctor know what is occurring. Since they have not heard from you they assume all is well, let them know it is not and good luck with your new baby.

My mother is suffering from the same thing.
She is quite older than you I'm sure, but anyway she was hospitalized a few weeks ago and they eventually did a bronoscopy (sp) on her. You can look this procedure up on Yahoo health. It's pretty painless. She is at home now and is taking mucinex.
You should probably speak to your doctor. It may just be pleuresy. (sp)

It's probably muscle tension... you might want to try some yoga... esp backbends & anything that opens your chest. Or laying a large foam physical therapy roller down the length of your spine while you lay over it.

(Um, obviously, only if your doctor says its ok.)
