No, herpes and HPV are NOT the same virus and have nothing to do with each other. They are very different and have very different symptoms.

Herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). The herpes simplex virus causes cold sores (oral herpes), genital herpes, chickenpox, shingles, and many other illnesses.

When a person says "herpes" they are usually referring to either cold sores or genital herpes. Herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 is responsible for BOTH cold sores and genital herpes. However, cold sores are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 1, while genital herpes are usually caused by herpes simplex virus 2. Cold sores appear on the lips and the inner corners of the mouth. They do NOT appear inside the mouth; these are usually canker sores. Genital herpes causes large blister like sores on the genital area. These sores can open and puss. They then scab over and heal.

HPV (Human papillomavirus) is the name of a group of viruses that includes more than 120 different strains or types. More than 30 of these viruses are sexually transmitted, and they can infect the genital area of men and women including the skin of the penis, vulva (area outside the vagina), or anus, and the linings of the vagina, cervix, or rectum. HPV can cause genital warts which are usually small, flesh colored and do NOT puss. HPV can also cause cancer (the most common being cervical cancer).

BOTH STDs are spread by sex (vaginal, oral, and anal) and by DIRECT skin to skin contact. They can also be spread to a baby during birth if the mother is having an outbreak of either virus.

HPV = Human Papilloma Virus = warts

There are many of these viruses which cause warts and some can cause changes in the cervix leading to cancer. There is now a vaccination available against the most dangerous types called gardasil.

HSV = Herpes Simplex Virus = herpes

There are two herpes simplex viruses, type 1 and type 2. 2 mainly causes genital herpes and is better adapted to this area of the body, and type 1 mostly causes oral herpes (cold sores), though both can be caught in both locations. The viruses are transmitted through skin to skin contact while the virus is active, through kissing, intercourse and oral sex. Symptoms include blisters, small 'cuts' and nerve soreness/pain. An outbreak lasts 3-5 days.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about six years back, while I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know a lot of young ladies will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/EIFgc everything got better.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating once more. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a packed restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system gave me back the chance to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the World.

No not at all. They are totally different. The only thing they have in common is that they are skin viruses and can be caught even when using protection.

But Herpes is HERPES and HPV is HUMAN PAPILLOMA.

It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Only related by the fact that they are both stds. They are also caused by viruses. But HPV causes veneral warts, also linked to cervical cancer. Herpes or HSV (herpes simplex virus) causes painful blisters and itching. Herpes may also be linked to increased risk of cervical cancer.
