There are organizations in many cities that give homeless or abused women clothes that they will need to wear for a job interview. Have your friends get together at a party and have them bring one outfit that will be suitable to wear for that interview. After that party donate the clothes to that service. If you have a cosmetology license offer to do hair or make up for those women.
Contact the beauticians in your area and make sure they know about organizations like "locks of love" that use hair to make wigs for children that need them. Volunteer to pick up and mail the hair they donate.
There are organizations like the Lions Club that collect eyeglasses and donate them to eye doctors in other countries to give to those in need.
People who are disabled have many clothing problems. Such as those who are in a wheel chair may need a skirt designed in a different way so that they don't get caught in the wheels or drag on the ground. Volunteer your sewing and design skills to assist them.

Wy not dump the fashion and go right to philanthropy. While you're worried about what color shoes to wear, most countries in central Africa have an AIDS infection rate or 25 % including the infants. Perhaps they need a few GAP catalogs
