There are a number of reasons why he texts you. It could be because:
1. Phoning is more expensive for him than texting.
2. He feels shy to talk to you so he leaves it until the last minute as well so that he can get it over with, especially if you say that he doesn't seem to mind when you call him.
3. He can only call at certain times because he may be in a relationship.
4. He probably doesn't realise how much the calls mean to you, especially if he is the casual sort who texts his mates regularly.
5. He is not as interested in you as you hope and so he is deliberately texting you to keep contact to a minimum.
Only you know your situation to be able to choose which ones might apply. It is frustrating when someone promises to do something and doesn't, especially a phone call. But usually when there is hesitation, or unfulfilled promises, it is because the feeling isn't reciprocal or the person is genuinely shy. He's probably not sure of how to deal with the conversation and uses the texts instead to keep the distance between you.

I personally hate calling, even though me and my boyfriend have been together for a bit of a while we barely ring eachother as were both not phone people, besides if your still at the dating stage then maybe the whole long phonecall thing isnt on yet? which isnt a bad thing! organising a date doesnt really require a phone call, maybe you could turn it into a little joke & say something like ' god do you ever ring anyone hehe' but make it light hearted! explain how you feel jokingly.. then see what happens ^o^ but dont take it seriously, at least hes still contacting you!

That guy sounds a lot like what my guy always do. There is nothing wrong but maybe is just that he prefers texting more than calling. It could be that he is just not much of a phone person but however if there is any move of his makes you suspicious there is something wrong, I'd say leave that guy and find a right one!

Alot of blokes prefer to text than call - it's a well known fact a lot of men are useless on the phone, makes sense really seeing as a lot of them are rubbish at communicating face to face as well! I owuldnt take it personally, my last boyfriend used to do it too, said he was rubbish on the phone. If it bothers you that much nexttime just say it would be nice if you actually called me once in a while!

Perhaps you could say you prefer to chat than to text. If he isn't arrnaging dates with you til the last minute then I would say that i've organised something already for this evening and just need a little bit of notice. We teach people how to treat us. x

Maybe he's a bit shy. It's a lot easier to "talk" via text than by calling.

2 things:
Either the guy is afraid to call you coz he lacks the self confidence,
Or the guy doesn't have enough credit to make a call.
The best way to find out is to call him immediately after he txt you

well a guy feels more comfortable writing messages than realy talking. it's more couraging. Girl won't realise if you are tired, exited, interested and stuff. Simply she won't notise anything that could make him feel uncomfortable

maybe he is scared/not confident enough to call you and start conversation - doesnt know what to say. When you text you have more time to think what you are gona say.
