well last night before i was leaving work i had to use the loo and noticed an unpleasent smell so i walked into the bathroom and there was a bit of poop on the floor that i nearly walked in. anyway i grabbed lots of plastic bags and paper towels and disposed of it properly. those kind of things don't bother me because i used to care for an elderly person but i know it was the cleaners job but i just could take seeing it there. i didn't touch it! so did i do the right thing?

Aww thanks for your positive comments. I didn't think twice about clearing it up because it just came naturally as I said I worked with an elderly man who always used to do that!

You deserve a CMC for such public-spirited act. Many people would have ignored it and let some one step into the mess. Pity the one who left it didn't clean it up.
On this subject, it's disgusting how dog owners do exactly the same thing - leave poo all over the place for others to step on them. Why do they think they have the right to do that. I don't blame the dogs as they are animals. But these otherwise intelligent humans who have no consideration.
Anyway, well done, again!

I think you did the right thing. Someone had to clean it up and while it didn't have to be you it was good of you to take care of it. You spared the cleaner a not nice job and also spared others from maybe walking in it and spreading it which would have been horrible.

I don't think there's anything wrong with doing what you think is right. My mother in law would have done just that, without fuss or bother. It was obviously unsafe to leave it there and waiting for a cleaner, would be like waiting for a bus!

I think calling the janitor or contacting someone would be appropriate also, clearly its not your job to pick the poop up, but I would say you went well above what is expected of any prudent person in that situation.

Personally, I wouldn't touch it because I cannot stand anything like that and it would make me heave! but that doesn't mean that it wasn't right for you to do it. I would let the maintenance/manager know so they could arrange for it to be cleaned.

However, I admire you for taking the initiative and cleaning up - if we had more considerate people like you in the world would be a better place.

Do you have cleaning people there, that is their job, but if it bothered you, you did the right thing. Always follow your heart.

Yes, why shouldn't it be the correct thing? Someone would have had to clean it up so it may aswell be you.
