So I have been thinking for a while and I really want to get a musical note tattooed barely above my waist line on my left of the front of my body. Music means so much to me and I want to get a tattoo with a bunch of meaning. It is a really hard to decision though, because I do not know how I will feel in let's say 20 or 30 years from now. I know that I will love it for a long time, but I do not know if someday I would regret it. What is your opinion on what I should do?

I can't think of a specific reason I'd regret it other than the possibility of not wanting anything on my body.. I know I will always love music and it will always be a passion. And the good side is that I would be able to cover it up easily.

If you're still having doubts, don't do it yet. You shouldn't get a tattoo unless you are sure you'll love it today, tomorrow, and next year.
Consider to yourself, why might you regret it? If you can't come up with a good reason, that's a sign you're just being a worrier. :)
But hey, no rush. A tattoo is with you forever. Who cares if you get it now, or next year?

im also thinking of getting a tattoo when im old enough but the thing is that supposing after 20 or 30 years, you dont like it because of whatever reason (change of lifestyle, not much interest in music lol etc) it costs quite a bit to laser off and its really painful. a tattoo is permanent and lasering is the only way to go if you dont like it. plus its painful to tattoo, the needles might not be well sterialized. but good luck anyway with your decision!

Henna "tattoos", ie using henna to make designs on your skin for a few weeks is perfectly acceptable in Islam. Trying to permanently henna your skin will not work well, and I've honestly never heard of that practice. In Morocco, henna is traditionally (now anyway) applied with a blunted needle, but that still isn't being inserted under your skin, it is just a method for applying henna on top of the skin.

I think it's a good idea and at least you thought ahead about possibly wanting to cover it some day.
As for what it will look like 20-30 years from now............who
will care?
Not all old people get wrinkled that much to ruin a tat.....and if
it does.........like I said who cares.
I'm sure the person that you end up with won't care either.
So, go for it.

I looked at my dad's tattoo and it's all wrinkly and ugly ... that's one of the reason i didn't get a tattoo. Dude...It looks hot and sexy now but later, it's ugly!!! That tattoo you are going to get will not look the same in 20 or 30 years...that musical note might look like a boot or something really nasty...lolz....

We feel on a different level, than we think.
If you love something, go for it. Make it yours.
You might not know, if you will hate
steak in 30 years either, but what
the heck, eat it now. Enjoy your life.
Regret is a waste of time.

if you are so torn i think you should get it in a place that wont be hard to covor up during a regular day. there is such a satisfying sensation of pain and plesure getting a tattoo, but just be careful. i am usually against tattoos for the sake of having a tattoo, but yours sounds just.

who is really going to be seeing your old wrinkley hip when youre older anyways? i have 5 tattoos but i really dont care what im gonna care about it when im older. get it done and stop worrying about it. in 20 years if you really regret it im sure they will have some miracle cream that takes it off, or get laser removal.

don't do it! you might not like it when you get older, plus it could start to fade or sag. plus they're extremely tacky looking. I know it's harsh but whenever I see someone with a tattoo I automatically know I wouldn't get along very well with them. It looks so....unprofessional. you get be wearing the nicest suit and still look like...I don't want to say trash but I don't know what other word to use. sorry I know that's probably mean but that's just how I feel. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if you don't like it in 20-30 years, you can always get it lasered off.
Honestly, though, if you're not sure you're going to like it in 20 years, then maybe you should re-evaluate just how important it really is to you.
Hope this helps!
