Dear irishumanists,

The answer to your question is an empahtic: NO!

We live in a country that has a constitution that supports: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (equal to all). These are values that were espoused by the founding fathers of our country-- many of which are believers.

The Bible teaches Christians the priority of valuing others before yourself. Teaches submission to authority (our governmental system supports equal rights for everyone).

Christianity and Atheism may be ideologically opposed to one another but one great freedom about living in America- is that we can openly discuss and debate differences such as religion.

I'm not sure what's at the heart of your question. But i know that when we step into a voting booth- nobody asks about our religion, etc.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Of course we should, its their world god made it for them, why are we even allowed to waste valuable air. Shouldn't we all just bow and lick the (souls) of their shoes because they are so damn mercifull. Look their values and respect for those values are not in question, I do not believe in god, but to them that means I am a chainsaw wielding maniac. I once asked a christian if there were any exceptions to the 7 deadly sins, specifically killing, my scenario was, a psycho standing over a baby ready to use that axe on it, should I use my ak 47 to ventilate him and protect the baby, "if its gods will the baby should die then so be it" was the answer, so I pointed out well maybe its gods will that I should be standing there with an ak 47. See my point what the hell is your gods will and do you just interpret it to suit yourselves so that you can feel good about something bad you have done, and try to make people who humliate you in your beliefs look bad, when its all a petty little game you play , just so you dont feel ridiculous about a misguided and totally gullible existence

I don't think so. Everyone has a right to their own opinions and beliefs, so why should atheists fare worse than Christians? We're all human beings, and just because you don't believe in something doesn't make you any less better than the ones who do.

This coming from a Catholic since birth.

That's asinine. No. Protect free speech and the market place of ideas. Freedoms are products of a Divine Establishment when it is running correctly. The loss of freedom to anyone is evil.

Everyone has the same rights no matter who they are or what they believe

Why should anyone have rights taken away just because of their faith/or lack of faith? I don't understand why you would even consider this notion.
