You can mention that even though they may be a distraction they really show individualism. Not everyone is into them but the ones that are should be allowed to get piercings. And like you said it has no effect on your education but it might have a serious effect on your personality. Not getting them might make you lose tons of your personality and wont let you separate yourself from everyone else.
Hope that helped!

Expression of individuality. If your school has enforced uniforms, say that this is a way of breaking the mould. If it doesn't, say you don't see how a piercing differs.

You could talk about how there could be rules regarding how many a student has or what is worn in it. Something like if it isn't a safety hazard, it should be allowed.

It's good for people to be allowed to express themselves and if this helps people do so, why would a school want to stop that?

body modified people (both piercings & tats) are considered a 'minority', therefore to limit what they can do is both limiting their personal freedoms, and persecuting them for their life choices. and if you can't do it to other minority groups, be it religious, or lifestyle like vegetarians, then why should those who choose to modify themselves take it?

also, modifying ourselves has been around for thousands of years, and is historic in many cultures. it's human to make ourselves look the way we want - if body mods aren't allowed, then surely everyone should also have to wear a standard unaccessorized uniform, and not be able to wear make-up, as these are all 'modifications' to the standard human appearance

people like to express themselves.. it's their body (face) and their choice.

also, some people have their nose pierced due to their religion, and there shouldn't be any discrimination based on that.
