Am I a shy person?

I am a starting actor, and sometimes I feel shy. But, I'm not afraid of performing in front of people, and I actually enjoy it. I am quiet until I get use to them.

You sound like you are more of a reserved personality than shy.
You like to get to know people before you feel comfortable enough, to open up to them.

BTW.. a lot of good actors are the same as you, such as Keanu Reeves just to name one. So many more......
