Not while you're still on probation. It is sometimes possible, though to have the judge dismiss probation early if you want to join the military. Here's what you do. Pay off all your fines and fees. Comply with EVERY condition of probation, including any classes, counseling, etc that you need to attend. Don't miss an appointment with your probation officer. If you're late, call. If you need to move the appointment, call. Don't just not show up!
Once you have paid all fines and fees and follow the rules for probably six months, you can place your own case on the court calendar to have the judge review it for early termination of probation. Bring the recruiter to Court with you and provide ship dates for basic training...
That's your best shot. If you haven't complied completely, don't embarrass yourself or your recruiter by trying to get it terminated early. Follow the rules and take care of your business (especially if you have any victim restitution to pay.. that's critical!) Then, if you're doing well, the judge will probably consider it.

YOUR RECRUITER IS LYING: It is against Army Regulation 601-210, ask your recruiter to see what it says about people on probation. Google it on the internet and look it up yourself.

Doubtful if you're still on probation. You'll have to finish out the term before you can enlist. Secondly, you will need to discuss this with your Army recruiter, and see if the Army will waive that misdemeanor arrest. It's been done before, but you will have to see if they can do it in your case.

in accordance with ar 601-280 you cannot even begin the processing for the army (or anyone else for that matter) while on any kind of court ordered probation. google the reg and check it for yourself. chapter 4-37.

You have to wait until you are off probation.....AND you have to get a waiver for your criminal history.
Your recruiter is telling you whatever you want to hear so he doesn't roll a donut this period. He's most likely trying to get you to stay on his active prospects list because it's summer and he wants his Saturdays off. (They get to go to Training on Saturday if they have little/no enlistees)
Trust me on this one.....I almost married a very, very sleazy recruiter. I know all of his tactics.

Talk to your local recruiter. He will be able to tell you for sure. What I do know, is that if you are convicted of a violent or sex crime, then your chances are pretty slim of getting in. Other crimes you may be able to get a waiver.
