Why are we the best. Just think we have the title and are the first to fight!!!! I do have respect for the rest but we are the best trained!!!

As a Marine that is still in I just want to say we are all the best that is respect!!! All the Good Men and Women that serve are good people. I'm proud to be a Marine and the title does mean something but show so respect to the others.

I cannot in good faith say any one service is better than another, each has its own job. As for getting "hand me downs", take a look at weapons specs for small arms. The Marine corps has the strictest tolerance. I know for a fact that if a Marine's weapon does no longer meets the specific technical standards, that marine is issued a new weapon. Usually that weapon will still meat the Air Force's requirement. Marines are who they are for a number of reasons, they are under direct control of the President, they guard our embassies and many other assignments that the other services do not. Who guards the Tomb of the unknown shoulder? The Army, does that make the army better? No. Why do Marines have 3 weeks longer basic? so they can become a more able to enter into their assignment better prepared. learning and adequately performing sea assaults, long the purview of the Marines is a much more difficult task to master.
Sailor and Marine walk into a head at the same time, Marine washes his then uses the urinal the Sailor just the opposite, uses urinal then washes his hands. Sailor asks Marine 'Don't they teach you guys to be sanitary and wash your hands after going to the bathroom?" Marine replies "No they teach us not to pee on our hands"

Isn't the definition of a marine a naval infantryman? Basically like the army but on ships?
I respect you guys, but the American Marine Corps is different from most traditional Marine Corps.

Marines are the best! I think that all our armed forces are great!
Don't they also say something about the Marines always go back for their own? An organization that began in a bar -- can't go wrong there!
As my husband says .... Semper Fi ! He is a former Marine and we proudly fly the American flag and the Marine flag in front of our home every day!

Aw Gunny, you know USSF took Afghanistan in 45 days with only 1 Battalion. Then the marines got invited to the party!.
USSF beat y'all into Iraq as well.
Still, the Army respects y'all just fine too.

Not sure what the marines are"best" at.......they seem pretty mindless to me. Also they as a standalone force, dont have the firepower to decide the outcome of a war.

Im sorry to burst your bubble Marine boy but someone has to. The "Marines" are not the best. They are not the best trained. They do not have the best equipment. I have spent more time treating "Marines" then any other service member because the tactics they use are "BAD" There have been more fratraside incidents in my AO caused by marines then anyone else. You are the guys who go in shooting blind and the next day are writing a letter to someones mom about how your sorry you shot CPL johnny's legs off with a 249. Your actions on contact (IED's) only get more people ****** up. Your armor sucks. Your "Marines" are brainless. They use tactics that don't work but continue to use them simply because thats the way you trained. I have provided more aid for Marines then any army, AF, or USN combined. Oh, and its not because you have a more dangerous mission... I normally dont like to talk **** but someone had to let the air out of your head you brainless ****.
