Benefits and the amount of documented trouble you got into in the military, specifically Article 15s. Company Grade or Field Grade.

I received a General Discharge instead of honorable because of two Field Grade Article 15s.

An honorable discharge is usually awarded when your enlistment is up. Mine simply reads, "expiration of term of service.
An honorable discharge can also be granted for medical reasons.

A general discharge under honorable conditions is made when a member's service has been honest and faithful. It is considered warranted when significant negative aspects of the member's conduct of performance of duty outweigh positive aspects of the member's military record.

Try explaining that one to a prospective employer.

A dishonorable discharge, basically means, they want to get ride of you.
