It is said that what we call freedom is always freedom from something and there is nothing like absolute freedom and therfore, in the name of spirituality what we are seeking is a slot for ourselves where disturbance will be minimised.

Yes, religion works. That's why most people are religious.

There's a lot in what you say. Spirituality cetainly isn't about religion but about self-understanding and exploring ways to feel freedom. Some people get this through music, others gardening, others travel, writing, meditation etc etc. where some "inner thinking" can happen. Maybe some get it in places where organised religion is practised - but often that's a place where people go to feel safe as part of a group, with a leader, so not "free". How about the idea of sprituality as a freedom FROM self, a way of tuning in to the vastness of the universe?

Agree with you. What's more,It has the Social Sanction in most of the societies. In all fairness, let us find if spirituality has made any worth while contribution in Human development since the birth of this concept and practice.Non ,what so ever.If politics is said to be the last refuse of scoundrels then Spirituality can be rightly named as the escape route for non-doers and shirkers who are clever enough to earn quite a bit of respectability for themselves in spite becoming non social entities and no-good DOERS.
