You people are all a bunch of idiots. Customers come in and pay a sh*tload for shoes. It's YOUR job to put the shoes back. You really think a paying customer is going to work to put the shoes back?? Christ, what exactly do you think you're getting paid to do? Look stupid?
Listen, little girl, you're not getting paid to look stupid. You're doing that for free. Get a work ethic and quit your bitching.

You know I don't work in retail but I know what your talking about, I can't stand it either. I see that kind of behavior all the time. I have worked with a cleaning business and they pretty much do the same things but worse because they can, and they dont' care! When I see the stupid stuff people do in public places like that I always say; Didn't they learn any manners growing up? It makes you wonder!! When I i stay at hotels sometimes with my boyfriend I always cleanup after myself and he says, why do you do that? I tell him, because I made the mess I'm going to clean it, like throwing the trash away instead of leaving it sit around. He said thats what the room is for, I said what to leave a mess? He said no to use the room and they will clean it up. He argues with me about me cleaning up after areselves before we leave the room. I groom up like that, ALWAYS CLEAN-UP AFTER YOUR SELF! To answer your question basically they think that they don't have to put anything back where they got it because thats what they got workers for!

Well it depends. Did YOU go and pick out the shoes from the back for them? If you did, then they can leave them on the floor for you to get. If THEY went and got the shoes from the box and put them on, then it is rude that they left it all over the place.
Customers are very holier than thou and think the world revolves around them.
Customers who are actually NICE and considerate are either customer service employees themselves OR very rare nice and courteous people that we wish everyone to be.

Years ago one got true service in a store and putting items, shoes, whatever away was ALWAYS the job of the salesperon.
Don't complain, consider it job security for yourself. If you're a good salesperson you can make very good commissions selling shoes. When I was a dept. store buyer the top salesperson made more than the store mgr.!
Gas stations, formerly known as service stations, pumped your gas, checked your oil and water, checked and filled your tires, and if you go way back the attendant would take a whisk broom and sweep out the front; and they also cleaned all of your windows.

I completely agree. I've worked retail and I understand. However, sometimes companies set up their displays poorly. I hate going into a clothing store and seeing shirts laid out on a table. They are stacked from smallest to largest. So, if you need a large you have to remove like 15 shirts before it. I try to keep the display intact, but sometimes the shirts fall or they wringle. So, as a customer, I try to be neat. But it does not always work well.

the thing is, if you are on uniform and on the clock, you are a slave to those people. the money you get from your paycheck is not from the company, it is from the customers. i used to work in retail too, so i can understand your situation. there are people like that, and you have to understand that most of them are idiots. but don't think that all of them are. the solution to your problem is to keep a positive attitude in and out of work. if that doesn't work, find another job. it is not worth the money and time if you stay on the job that you despise.

Boy o boy this must be the most asked question by anybody and everybody in retail.
I blame on the jerk that decided "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" as we know the customer isn't always right in fact is hardly ever right.
Keep the good work up, at least you'll end up with good people skills

Consider working in a higher end store or in a different part of town. People are rude. I'm sorry you have to deal with it but I guess we are blessed to have a job.

o only do this if I have had to hunt for a clerk, cant find one, so hunt for the shoes, then try and find a little seat to balance on, then try and find a mirror....and half the time the price is not on the box so can not be bothered to line up for a price quote on it................
Not saying your shop is like that but sadly the majority are and maybe the people get very frustrated overall.
Mind you I hate shoe shopping LOVE shoes just not the shopping for them..............
