I am looking for the lyrics to a song that Canadian Gunners sang during flight missions during WWII. Help!?

I have had the son of a recently deceased gunner ask me if I knew the song. I don't know any of the words or the title of the song. All I know is that the gunners sang it in flight . The son would like to recite the lyrics as part of a memorial.

I think the song is called "Gunner's lament"

Can't find the words.

Flight of the valkyries? I really can't find anything. I have looked all over the internet. Can you ask someone from that era?
