I have tried couple of softwares but these softwares are converting the AVI file to MPG format and MPG format is not being accepted by Nero to burn as a Movie DVD. When Im trying to burn the movie in DVD Video in Nero its looking for I think files with VOB format. However I have MPEG format file. I was able to convert some of these AVI files to VCD or SVCD format which can be burned on a CD-R but I want them burned on a DVD-R. So basically speaking Im looking for a software that converts AVI to VOB with the required IFO and BUP files.

Movie DVD Maker can help you

you can add your avi files and then even edit them. Then burn in the program if you have Nero.

Of course, you can also create iso image file with Movie DVD Maker and then burn in Nero.

Quite user-friendly program and you can have a try.

Movie DVDs has a special file system. So you have to use a Movie DVD making program to for this task. Try to use AVS Video Converter from AVS Video Tools http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/avs-video-tools.htm

It is very simple with this tool

- download, install and run the program
- open a file or file you want to burn
- click “To DVD” button
- click “Convert Now”

After conversion is finished, it will ask you to insert a blank DVD.

I think that AVS Video Converter is the best. It supports virtually all video formats and has built-in DVD, VCD burning engine.

Handbrake makes a good free video format coverter ... my personal preference for DVD quality is Quicktime (you can covert it to a high definition H.264 codec). The result is high quality video with smaller file size.

I use 2 different ones depending on what I need.

I use "Movie Edit Pro 12" if I need anything "edited" in the footage but let
NERO VISION do it if I just want to "fire and forget" as it does auto search for sensible chapter points and goes stright to disc or HDD folder as I want.
