anyone can make infantry... Its how good you become that will matter (especially when deployed, cuz you will go) run like hell at BCT and dont ever fall out of a run. if you fall out once, you will do it again. Half your job is to be as fast and strong as you can. Treat your medics well. Your life might be in his hands someday.

Boot camp, regardless of what branch you are going in, is a serious mental challenge. Being in shape will make it physically easier but you will walk out of boot with a totally different mentality then you walked in with, you'll walk out with honor and respect.

You won't be a 140 pound wimp by the time you finish Basic Training. If you build your strength and stamina, you will make it to AIT.

Good Luck and God Bless you youngster.

even if the army wasnt begging for folks to join them right now, you should be able to make it no problem. fortunately for you, they really need people badly, so you shouldnt worry. also, its not so much your size, but what you have inside. if your not able to handle the job of an infantry troop mentally, then even if you were 6'2" 225lbs of solid muscle you wouldnt make it... good luck.

I think that bulking up won't hurt because boot camp helps you gain weight but the more exercise the better before you go in. also, the best of luck to you, you're in my prayers. :]

Redneck, start doing lots of pushup, situps and start running every other day. When you get there, do what youre told, learn every thing you can and you'll do fine.

Volunteer for Airborne and Ranger schools. You'll be glad you did.
