Pancakes can be savory. I've seen breakfast sandwiches that use pancakes instead of a bun.
i think you can also get breakfast sausage on a stick, dipped in pancake batter and deep fried.
Now as far as putting something savory IN the pancake?
hmm... I imagine you could, but just on principal, its sort of a gross idea.
Having said that, try something like breakfast ham and pineapple in a pancake. I bet that wouldn't be a bad start.

I have never tried to make pancakes from scratch. I usually just buy the Bisquick kind and follow the directions on the side. I find that Bisquick has a slight sweet taste to the actual pancake part. It is so good, especially with some butter and some syrup. This question is making me hungry! Yum! Have a Blessed day! :)
P.S. If you don't want the syrup, another good idea is to get some strawberries that have been frozen in sweet syrup. You can get this fairly cheap in your freezer section at the grocery store. Make you pancakes and place the strawberries on top along with some whipped cream. Then dust a light layer of powdered sugar. Yum! Of course, you could use any type of fruit, it doesn't have to be strawberries. You could use blueberries, blacberries, or peaches for example.
Hope this helps! :)

You should try making Crepes, which is a very thin pancake. Then stuff with rice, broccoli, cooked boneless skinless chicken chunks (I just cut the breast meat in chunks then stir fry it with a little lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper) and Shredded Cheddar. After stuffing, roll like an enchilada and put seam down in a baking dish. Then make a cheese sauce with flour, butter, cheddar cheese and milk....like you would make a rue. When the cheese sauce is done, pour over the crepes and then top with grated cheddar cheese. Put in 350 oven until hot and bubbly. It's time consuming, but oh so good. I always get rave reviews.

just make the add water pancakes and get a lemon be carefull not to smash it and squeez out the juice
now peal it and kut out the inside so there is little full of jiuce pulp as good as you can then do not mix with pancake mix poor mix in pan like you would when you make a normal cake and sprinke the little peaces of lemon on it and make sure you dont have the pan to hot you know when its just right when you put water in the middle of the pan before making the cake and its just flows along the pan while little bubbles not when it jumps off the pan now when you flip it you should be carefull and in about 2 min it should be done yummm

make them into a breakfast sandwich
take two pancakes, spread each with butter like you would a sandwich, put some eggs and sausage or bacon in the middle, put some cheese on the eggs before the meat, and top with second pancake. pour syrup on top. enjoy this sweet and savory yummy breakfast. make sure everything is hot so the cheese will melt.

People think I'm strange, because I make my pancake batter omitting the sugar and add shredded cheese and serve with a fried egg on top. I'm not a big fan of sweets.

Buy a box of Bisquick and follow the directions for sweet pancakes. You can add ham or bacon bits to make it savory.

EVERYONE! loves my pancakes...use box brand where you don't need to add anything but water, BEFORE you add water in measuring cup, put cap of vanilla flavor, and quick drop of orange juice, then water...mix as usual, and you will have RAVE REVIEWS!...but don't tell anyone, I kept this a secret even from my kids...
