My dream: I saw myself sitting on my couch watching TV & all of a sudden the TV went out & the lights went out in the house. I went outside to see if it was just my house or if it was a power shortage on the block. Everybodies lights were out...even the light posts outside on the corner were out....It was dark everywhere as far as I could see...I stood outside wandering what the heck happened. It was quiet too quiet...then I felt it....something in the air....moving slowly....I could not see it but I felt something coming closer & closer....I remember being very scared in the dream....I thought of maybe somekind of radiation or something of that nature moving in on our little town....when I awoke I was petrified...I thought to myself that it was the end of the world. It was really freaky....I wrote that dream down in my journal.

Maybe that's a premonition. Maybe there will be a big problem that you're going to encounter. So be careful.

Lots of people these days are dreaming about the end of civilization. That is what this dream is about also.
The lights in your dream represent fire, which is one of the things that separates us from the other animals on this planet. When we lose the control of fire, we have lost what makes us superior to other animals, and we have to start worrying about being eaten by wolves and lions and other things that go bump in the night.
The dream is not a premonition of something that IS going to happen. It is merely a way your subconscious mind has of expressing what you are AFRAID is going to happen.
When you're trying to understand your dreams, try to remember that we have only lived in large cities and such for a little little while. 99% of human history was spent in the stone age - huddled around campfires with growls and shrieks and other terrifying animal sounds coming from the dark forest around us.
So when we dream, it's our inner stone age child talking to us about the things that frighten it, make it happy, sad, etc...

I don't think it was a premonition in the sense of something psychic or magical (I don't personally believe dreams need that to work). I think it might have been your subconscious warning you that something is threatening your way of life (your town). It could be anything YOU perceive as a threat - from a storm to global warming; whatever it is, you see it as a force that could change everything around you.

No it was just a bad dream. You probably have been worried about something and it came out in a dream.
do you worry about Global Warming, Or have you been having storms in your area?
Storms cause me a lot of stress, esp when the electic goes out and causes me to have nightmares. Plus we had floods on Tuesday. Got kinda scary.
