Are the leather type or nylon type best? Which is easier to put on,take off? Which type is most secure? What brand seems to wear the best? Any preferences or feelings about a particular type or band?

Thanks for asking this question. I'm going to check out the Eddie Bauer website from the person that mentioned it. I have twins and right now, I can't take them anywhere alone. They run in two different directions. Anyone that thinks this is mean, it's really not. What's mean is making your kids stay home all the time because you're afraid of losing them. What's meaner, is not taking precautions such as this and letting them possibly be abducted if they get away from you. No one thinks of their child as an animal with a leash. This is simply a device that keeps the children close to their parent and safe.

I've got two sets, one from Mothercare and one set from Boots and they're both the nylon type with adjustable straps and a one-click harness fastening.

They're easy to get on and off and the 'rein' part is detachable so nipper can wear just the 'harness' around the house when only toddling so that they get used to them and there's no tantrum when you want to wear them (they're also a good back saver when they're at that finger holding stage).

The leather ones are cute but they're not washable-and the ones I've seen lately were a little 'stiff' for my liking.

Both sets have been washed regularly and they still look like new-no wear or fluffiness.

I haven't seen any leather reins for ages! Can you still get them? I think nylon is popular, you can clean them if dirty. My two used nylon(one still does) Mothercare and Tommie Tippee. My youngest loves his reins! I will NOT entertain wrist reins cause I feel that they could hurt the little 'un's wrist should you have to prevent them from running into the road for example.
Why do you ask if this a joke, "hey"?

When my son was little I used Mothercare reins, easy to use, strong with good easy release clips and wide enough to not cut into his skin. Mothercare or Boots both make very good reins, whatever you buy make sure the straps are wide enough so as to avoid discomfort for the child.
