What was it, if you don't mind saying, otherwise a yes or a no is fine.
And did you keep it?

***^*********************^***
I made a pact with God once. Pretty personal! eek!
I was alone one evening after my mother got home. She'd been somewhere directly after work (she was a good Bar Maid). She got crazy and swore she was going to kill herself. I was 14. For whatever reason said it was all my fault. I tried everything to get her not to. But couldn't? So begged her not to do anything until I got back. So I ran a fair way to get my Auntie to come around. She was drunk, and she did with alot of cussing toward me.
But whilst I was running I prayed to God to not let my mother do it and I promise for the rest of my life I will be good.
I kept repeating it trying to Convince God I Would Never do anything wrong again if if only He'd stop my mother from committing suicide.
I wasn't Saved then, so needless to say I didn't hold up my end of the bargain.
Mother is still alive as ever.

A Pastor whom his wife and I are good friends, made a pact with Godwhen he was 16.
He came from a non Christian family, a few tragic things happened alomg the way, And one day whilst he was swimming - no-one in sight he got caught in a rip and whist nearly drowning, he said to God "if you save me from drowning, I promise I will follow you all my life."
And from that day forth he has and has been a Pastor for about 20 yrs.
Glory to God!

That is interesting... I have made a pact, I told God, that if he would find a kidney for my daughter, I would quit smoking. Guess what, after only 6 months on the waiting list, she got a kidney, and I did quit smoking. Been smoke free for 6 months+ now. I will also tell you that I had tried to bargain with God on many occasions when I was raising our daughters, bring them home safely when they were late, different things, I didn't always uphold my end of the bargain, but God didn't care, he knew my heart, and he also knew how immature I was. It is pretty funny, I would have given our daughter a kidney in a heart beat, but I couldn't beacuse of health reasons, God knew all that, and he knew it would kill me to not be able to fix this for my girlie. But, it was a lesson I needed to learn, I can't fix everything. Just like you can't fix your momma, you are not responsible for her behavior and actions. She is, all you can do is love her, pray for her, and just be the person God wants you to be. The rest sweetie, she will have to learn on her own. You are a smart cookie! You will go far in your life!

Well, I have never actually made a "pact" w/ God... He is not that way!
We are sinners by nature... But I, as you seem to , believe that God was with you- saved or not- and he did keep your Mother from harm!
You still have time to keep your "bargain"... In fact, that is why you are likely asking others input- so you will receive some proclamation to realize the fact that you should give your all and try your best to live for God- for he is there for you!
I hope you gain encouragement and faith to continue on your path with his word as your armor!
Good luck... may God bless!

Yes.

But the girl married someone else anyway. lol

But what really got to me was; The "new" guys last name was the same as MINE. (no relation) Talk about "rubbing my nose" in it. I would say THAT was a definite "NO" as an answer to a prayer.

I received an invitation to the Wedding. Didn't go.

But also, I didn't have to keep my end of the "bargain" with God since I didn't get the girl. lol

I don't think I'm going to say what "my end" would have been.

Over 30 years later, even now I cringe when thinking about it. lol

So because your mom made a decision not to kill herself you attributed it to intervention by a supernatural being?

I'll bet if she had killed herself, you would have written it off to god having other plans or some such.

That's the thing about superstition, people tend to count the hits and ignore the misses. How many times have you prayed and not had it answered? Did god say "no" or is there no one listening?

I'm glad your mom is okay regardless. My mom used to threaten suicide often too, BTW, but it was just melodrama.

what a beautiful testimony on the grace and mercy of God. He knew you couldn't possibly keep that promise but he blessed you anyway . I don't think i made a pact with him since i was a very small child I said God if I go to heaven I want to have lots of presents for you. Of course now 35 years later I know it's only His son's precious shed blood that gets my redemption and I praise Him for that. Recently he healed my mom of glioblastoma a fast incurable killing brain cancer and I praise Him for that She is 3 years past her prognosis!!! I said Isiaih scriptures 53 over her He is true to his word

I've been tempted but come to my sense's before I do. I am afraid I will not be able to keep my end of the bargain.

So, my answer is no.
