My (predominantly white) friends tend to mock me a bit for generally finding black women very attractive -- I've probably run into more African-American girls I've wanted to date than white girls I've been attracted to.
I tend to tilt conservative when it comes to politics, though, and I don't have a personality that seems terribly compatible with most black women I've hung out with. (Don't misinterpret this as a stereotype. I understand there are many exceptions out there, I just haven't met many.) Most of my friends have told me there's no hope in me meeting a black woman who'd even want to date a white man, let alone date a guy with my personality and preferences.
Should I just give up and concentrate on girls of my ethnicity?

Don't give up finding that black woman you want, and stop listening to your friends. If they were true friends to you they would never tell you things like they do. They would be a lot more positive and stand by you. There are plenty of black women that will date a guy like you. After all we are not the same. I'm a black woman myself. We don't all have the same views and look for the same type of men with the same personalities. The key to this is to let things flow naturally. Sometimes we look too hard for things and we end up with the wrong things, but when you let things just happen and come naturally that's when you everything falls into place. I know this is going to sound corny, but if you believe in God just say a quick prayer to him and ask him to bring the perfect black woman to you. I can promise you that he will. Never give up and don't just concentrate on your own race because after all women are women.

well it depends on the person. im 17 and black and ive been dating outside my race my entire life. i have never had a problem with it because of where i live - its kind of common ( mid atlantic region - new york, maryland, pennsylvania, etc)....well all black women arent the same by any means but because black people in general only make up like 12 percent or so of the country ...well it may just be harder depending on where you live. and you're conservative? im not going to lie - not many ppl, blk or white, are that open minded... im an extreme liberal and i feel strongly about politics but i have friends that are conservatives and republicans...just depends on the person on whether or not they'd accept that.
why would your friends make fun of you? um ive gone to predominantly white private schools my whole life and i live in a mixed neighborhood...ive never had someone mock me because i date other races..but um okay lol...
and just exactly kind of personality isnt "compatible" with that of "most" black women??!

there are some black girls that find white guys attractive, and Your white friends probably never been around much black people why they stuff to you. You should concentrate on what you are attracted to and have a nice personality.

Why would they say "once you've gone black, you'll never go back" if the sistas only dated the brothers?
Perhaps you will have better luck if you start hanging around a different location - despite sounding like a stereotype, certain kinds of people DO tend to hang out at certain types of places...
Such as Rednecks in Trailer Parks, and Asian people in Chinatown... go figure ;););)

Well, I'm here. I'm a Black woman who is completely conservative. We're out there. Don't give up either. We know how to appreciate a good thing when we find it.

Don't be so hard on yourself. A good woman black or whit appreciates someone REAL. I would much rather date someone who knows where they stand on all of their views. Keep on keeping REAL. Good luck.
