It will be on my 1989 ford mustang convertible, 5 speed. I am just wanting it painted red again. It is red right now also but was in a very minor hit and run (I wasn't in the car when it happened) and has a scratch on it.

If the scratch is small enough, its possible to have it mended without painting the whole thing. But the paintjob itself can range depending on where you go and where you live. Call around to body shops in your area and see what they run, see their shop and meet the people that do it and dont just go for the cheapest first. Ive had bad paintjobs before, its really not worth it try to cut corners.

nicely, first, you ought to purchase paint that is going over the previous, sure after sanding and treating (cleansing) it extremely is extremely helpful to apply a primer, or sealer, it extremely is as much as. I sell vehicle paint and aspects. A extreme gloss acrylic tooth, it runs $50 a gallon. so if youre doing under the hood and the door jams your staring at a million and a a million/2 gallons of paint. now, you will prefer a reducer, and a hardener, for the paint. i'm able to pass on, the main suitable factor to do is to evaluate the physique shops expenditures, or, in case you recognize of somebody who paints, i'm able to inform you the department shops would be high priced. desire I helped ya :-)

Get several estimates from paint and body shops in your area. The last time I had body work and paint done, there was about a 700 difference in estimates. Good luck.

if youre wanting to paint the entire car, youre looking at about $2500-$7000 depending on the paint used, colors wanted, body work needed.
lol if someone charges you $99.95 to paint a car, good god, dont even consider it.. it will be a bunch of illegals in the alley using spray paint rattle cans... and probably not even spray paint.. that wouldnt suprise me if they were using rollers and house paint.
