Nope. Books are man-made and susceptable to error.
God is Holy and perfect.

No, it just makes the religion imperfect and there are none that are perfect because man designed them upon, thoughts, fears, beliefs, superstitions, writings, messages, stories and myths. So don't through out the baby with the bath water. In other words, Don't make it all bad, just because the writers had different stories of the same thing. Discern everything and learn what you can. You decide what is right or wrong for you, not all of what you hear or read. Remember that the Holy books were written by man. Transcribing words can change in content or be colored to reflect the person writing the text and his own thoughts, just as I am writing here. It does not make me correct. When a message is given from above, it still has to be filtered through a human brain.
Many times information was not written by the originator or was written many years after the fact. Just because the information may seem faulty, does not give cause to dismiss the entire religion. There is good in most religions that seek the path of righteousness. That see the path of Love and Peace.

There aren't contradictions in the Bible. Don't know about untrue religions but the Bible always matchs up. Check it out. If you see ANY contradictions you need to study a little because there's something your missing.

No, except that some believers hold that every word is literally true and accepting that there are flaws will destroy their rather fragile view of religion. They deny almost all scholarship about the actual writing down and sources of the varieties of text in the Bible.

There are no "contradictions"....it's how a person interprets what's in the Holy Book.

Yes, it does. However, it may not be all false.
When you make the text subject to interpretation, you make it even more susceptible to error. Furthermore, you can't call it "true" if there are so many interpretations. This is typical of people, forcing someone/something else to "justify" their own beliefs that do not agree with it.

It doesn't help but any serious enquiry does not rely on a holy book, which after all is just a book.

i don't think so pertaining to the holy bible because Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life and whoever seeks me will find the truth . it says he was in the beginining and he is the word so He is the word and God spoke HIs ways and thoughts are higher than ours and his foolishness is more wise then our wisdom. So if we have child like faith we can trust in all the things the bible says even though we percieve them to be contradictory in our thoughts
