I agree with bridge 100%.
Be careful of the assistants, you know what they say "a little knowledge is dangerous."
Chewing ice can absolutely fracture your teeth, especially if they have large silver (amalgam) fillings in them.

YES!! don't listen to people who say it isn't. Ice is bad for your teeth. It can damage the enamel on your teeth.

Dear Reader,

Chewing on ice cubes might seem as harmless as drinking water, but it can actually do a good amount of damage. Chewing on ice can cause gum injury, microscopic fractures in enamel (which can become larger fractures), and even broken teeth. It's especially bad for people who have braces or have just had dental work done. And for those with sensitive teeth, chewing ice will most likely worsen, rather than numb, the pain.
Good luck:) Hope this helped=)

YES!!! Chewing ice can crack your teeth. I know because my wife did it for years and then we had to invest a couple thousand dollars in dental work for her. And yes, the dentist (who is my uncle) confirmed that the damage to her teeth was directly attributed to chewing ice. If you notice that your teeth are more sensitive, it could mean your teeth have been damaged. See your dentist to be sure. Hopefully it's just one of those things that'll go away, but don't risk it.

The softer ice is sorta okay, the old fashioned hard cubes are tougher--what happens with anything frozen even tooth enamel, is that it make it (albeit temporary) BRITTLE.
Therefore, you run the risk of hurting your otherwise good teeth!

Just suck on the ice, dearie, don't chew it.

Yes, it can slowly chip away at your teeth. It can cause holes in the enamel, chip the tooth, or cause it to go crooked. That is what my dentist told me because I have a bad habit of eating ice.

It is really bad for people with large fillings, especially on the back teeth. A large filling means there is less tooth structure remaining. So the tooth can chip or the filling can break.

Otherwise, I think it's ok.

Yes it can crack your teeth or even break a piece off....try gum or if you think you need to munch on ice try to just suck on it and not use your teeth.
