Try an anti-biotic...you can buy them at the bird shops, they will tell you how to treat your bird. I generally use 1 ampicillin capsule dissolved in 12oz. water. Allowing the bird access only to the anti-biotic water and their regular food. It should clear up in a couple of days. I keep mine on for a week in a hospital cage with a warm light 24/7 or until I see a difference and then I will turn the light off in the daytime when it's warmer but keep it on at night so she doesn't get cold. Good luck, hope it's not to late...

This is the exact thing that happened to my budgie. With in a few days i noticed she was sick and wasnt eating nor drinking and also had poo around her bum. It wasnt long after I noticed this that she passed away. There really wasnt anything that i could do for her but keep a light on her to keep her warm. Her last day I just sat and held her close to me to keep her warm and she passed away. I also didnt know what was wrong with her. I hope everything gets better and you find a better answer them mine. I just thought I would tell you that I relate to you. Good Luck hun.

It is serious, as built up poop usually indicates diarrhea. She sounds very sick, and other than taking her to an avian vet, there isn't much you can do. Warm water gently soaked on her butt may help clean her up, but handling such a sick bird could push her over the edge.

A dirty vent in a bird, coupled with not eating is a real cause for concern. Your bird NEEDS to see a VET URGENTLY! Birds hide illness,so when the owner notices their bird is sick, its usually too late.Vet.........ASAP...
