He probably shouldn't just show up. I hate it when clients do that. It's inconsiderate. If my clients miss an appointment, I want to hear from them via telephone ASAP. They need to apologize and ask to reschedule. If I don't hear from them, I give them a couple days to check in, but will then request a warrant, which takes several days.

His first step is to call. If he can't get his PO on the phone, then he can appear at the probation office.

Being a sex offender, he needs to be EXTREMELY cautious about not missing appointments. That's the primary focus of Sex Offender caseload supervisers... keeping tabs on the folks on the caseload.. if they disappear, you get a warrant ASAP!!

If its been 4 days then yeah, probably a 24 hours in jail then someone can bail him out. He should report if he has the money or not. They will not arrest him for not paying, if he is trying to come up with the money, or trying to get a job. If he is not trying, then his P.O. will think that he doesn't care and not work with him. His probation would have just been extended and maybe given him more hours of community service and other punishments, like curfew or something. I live in Texas as well.

He will probably be sent back to jail, but this all depends on the probation officer. The sentence after a finding of probation violation will depend on what kind of probation was imposed originally. However, it is possible that the judge will decide to continue your son on probation if the violation was not serious in his opinion. But, he must honor all probation requirements.
Remember, probation is a privilege, not a right.

It really depends on the P.O. He can let it slide since he came forth on his own without having to be picked up by the cops. If he is a real hard *** or disrespects the P.O., he could be in trouble. Probably, nothing will happen but I hope you can get him to smarten up before he ruins his life completely. A lot of 20 year old boys are still very immature, so he still needs some mothering. He is lucky to have one who cares. Good luck.

Don't go to the police, you're dad knows what he's doing. Do what you said you dad told you to do in the last post. Get the little ones, get what you need from your house and go to the hotel like your dad said. Your stepdad could be anywhere right now and capable of pretty much anything. You don't want social services getting involved. Listen to your dad, he's a lawyer. Go to the hotel, watch a movie with the kiddies and wait for you dad to arrive tomorrow so you can all go to the police together and they can see an adult present. Stick with your brother, don't separate, take one car stay together and keep an eye on the kiddies. Keep checking your stepdad's credit card accounts to see if he uses it anywhere. Be strong and stay safe. I'm saying a prayer for your mom to return safely!

Hire a lawyer.

Im gonna guess he'll be arrested and tried for violation of probation.

He could be listed as being in violation of his probation terms, but most likely they'll give him a break on his first infraction (if he's tactful and reasonably compliant).

1st one? He missed his first one? Not like he missed his 43rd one after 42 straight on time showings. He will probably get a strong warning I imagine. But jail time is a possibility.
