i'm asian-american, and i know traditionally its the guy that has to make the first move... but my personal experience has led me to believe that asian, black and brown girls are more likely to make a first move than a white girl. i dont mean to sound racist, but do u think this is true? I find that white girls arent responsive to me unless I make the first move whereas with asian/brown/black I dont have to make the first move all the time...

Interesting observation. Might depend on where you live.

I am an Asian-American female. I think that for Asian guys, dating white girls is a bit tough because, most likely yes, you will have to make the first move most of the time. Overall, all of my Asian male friends tell me how tough it is for them to date outside of their race because a white girl going for an Asian guy is not too common. But a white guy going for an Asian girl is much more common. I gotta say, Asian guys have it tough. But I think if you are interested in a girl outside your race, go for it. If you have to make the first move, then so be it!

I know that times are changing but in my day it was absolutely wrong for a girl to make the first move and if guys went out with girls that were aggressive like that we'd not even waste our time with them.
So, that is old school, but some of my generational ideas have certainly affected my daughter who doesn't feel exactly the same way, I mean she's far from Marsha Brady, but she isn't the aggressive type either.
And we're white. Maybe because I identified with Marsha Brady instead of Lisa Huxtable. ???

I don't know if it is a race thing or an individual thing. I have dealt with women from a wide spectrum of racial backgrounds and I find that women in general expects a man to make the first move. It is because it is tradition that the man is the persuers of love, sex, and long-term relationships. Of course there are always exceptions. There are women regardless of race or age who won't think twice about going up to a man and make the first move.

It pretty much depends on how she was raised by her mother. It could also have something to do with her social and religious background as well.

I, personally, have never heard that about Asians or African Americans, or other races...

And it's perfectly acceptable for a girl to make the first move. This is the 21st century. Do what you want.

Depends on the girl. Some will make the first move and some will not make the first move. If the girl feels she is "hot" enough to get any guy she want, she will make the move, but if she is shy and feel she doesn't have the confidence to do so, then she won't make the first move.

When it comes down to it, does she have the confidence to make the first move.

Stop thinking about how it should be and make the first move if you are interested. I also have to agree with what
M S said (first comment above) could be where your from. Dont fall into that sterotype - go for what you want no matter what color or ethnicity.

I wouldn't say that you are being racist. You are making sweeping generalizations about different ethnic groups. Assertiveness is not a cultural characteristic, it is based solely on the individual.

What I can tell you is that you are attracted to and tend to attract girls with assertive personalities. Their ethnicity has little to do with it.

In life it serves us well to use our personal experiences as frames of reference not for stereotyping anything or anyone.
