Vicodin = hydrocone
Percocet, OC, Oxycontin = oxycodone
Valium = diazepam
Quaalude = methaqualone

Hydrocodone and oxycodone are opiate pain killers. Valium is a CNS depressant, and is a tranquilizer, and is prescribed for anxiety, seizures, muscle spasms, sedation. Methaqualone is a sedative drug which is similar in effect to barbiturates, a general CNS depressant. It is used to treat insomnia, and as a sedative and muscle relaxant.

Why are they on the street? Some people sell a portion of their prescription to recover the cost of their doctor visit and pharmacy expenses, which they may not could afford otherwise.

Most of those you mention are narcotic painkillers of the opiate variety, though Valium is a muscle relaxant. Others available on the street are Dilaudid and fentanyl. These are drugs that can give a high similar to heroine, I'm told, but are extremely addictive if used as a recreational drug, rather than for a prescribed purpose. Some people tend to think that because a drug is available by prescription it is safer to take than things such as cocaine or heroine, but this isn't the case. You'll get just as screwed up on these drugs as you would on crack if you use them to get high.

It means some one got a prescription. and either it got stolen, or their selling them on the street. Most of those listed are pain killers, and a anti depressant. All of them are controlled substances and who ever is distributing them has no regards for anyone but putting a buck in his pocket. Having been on some of them when I had cancer surgery, I can attest that I'd rather be in pain from the surgery then the side effect of pain from constipation they gave me. A very dangerous pass time to pop meds to get high or low,

She needs to go to rehab and get totally clean before she can do anything. It definately sounds like a person with a crack addiction. You need to get the family together and discuss this, force her into rehab, otherwise its just going to keep going downhill for her, her boyfriend should be helping and forcing her into rehab.

alot of doctors don't like prescribing them cause they are a highly addictive drug so they just buy them on the street.
